A garden where one cooks food – just kidding! A kitchen garden is a space dedicated to growing vegetables, herbs and fruits. Edible Routes tries to continually nudge people into growing their food – even if it is only one pot of leafy greens. We believe every space is capable of growing food – whether it’s a few square feet or a few hundred square yards.
That’s just us trying to give kitchen gardening a cool name! But ‘urban farming’ does signify the attempt to grow what we eat as much as possible, not just supplement our dinner plates with homegrown curry patta and dhania. It seeks to bring food closer to people – physically as well as in spirit!

Absolutely – if you live on love and fresh air, that is! The truth is, you probably won’t be able to grow everything you eat but in an area of about 120-150 square feet of growing space an individual can grow everything she or he eats fresh, as in leafy greens, salads, herbs, tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, beets, carrots, even zucchini and squash, corn too!
